El Paso declared a systemwide Strained Operating Condition (SOC) for a draft condition Tuesday. The imbalance tolerance was initially set at 10%, but El Paso warned that it will reduce the tolerance “if conditions do not sufficiently improve.” A significant increase in system loads was a result of high ambient temperatures in the pipeline’s service area in combination with takes in excess of scheduled quantities resulted in a loss of about 300 MMcf in linepack since noon MCT Monday, El Paso explained, and its Washington Ranch storage facility was at maximum withdrawal rate. Interruptible Storage Service was suspended Tuesday until further notice.

Florida Gas Transmission did not extend an Overage Alert Day (OAD) beyond Monday but warned Tuesday that because of hot weather in Florida it may be required to issue another OAD on an upcoming gas day.

MRT said the System Protection Warning that was declared Monday will be lifted at the start of Wednesday’s gas day. Replacement parts for compressor #6 at the Clay Basin storage facility are not expected to be on site until Wednesday, Questar said, and as a result injection capacity will remain at 325,000 Dth/d until further notice. Based on current nominations, no customers are impacted by this reduction, Questar said.

Noting that it was performing maintenance Tuesday and Wednesday at Buhl Compressor Station, Northwest said Primary firm nomination requests through the station exceeded the available capacity of 496,000 Dth/d. Thus the pipeline notified customers of a Declared Deficiency Period starting Tuesday. Based on Buhl design capacity of 585,000 Dth/d, the Daily Deficiency Volume is 89,000 Dth/d, Northwest said. The Deficiency Period is expected to end after the end of Wednesday’s gas day.

When Gulf South began scheduled maintenance last Friday on its Index 293 segment, the work was expected to last four days. However, Gulf South said Tuesday that it was determined that approximately 60 days of further maintenance will be required to complete the project. The Grand Bay C.P. A-1 receipt point will remain shut in for the duration of the work. Gulf South also said it had been notified by Targa Midstream Services that the Venice Plt (from Targa Midstream) location will be shut in Thursday and Friday due to maintenance activities by Targa, the operator.

Transwestern said the outage of the San Juan Lateral between Blanco Hub and Bloomfield Compressor Station would be complete in time for Wednesday’s gas day, and it will then increase the segment’s capacity from 650,000 MMBtu/d to its original 1,235,000 MMBtu/d.
