Noting that its linepack was low and cold weather was forecast to move into its Florida market area Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, Florida Gas Transmission (FGT) implemented an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers Tuesday. The tolerance for negative daily imbalances was set at 25%. FGT said it would not interrupt previously scheduled ITS-1 service for Tuesday’s gas day in the market area “below the elapsed prorated scheduled quantity.”

Maritimes & Northeast U.S. (M&N) reported that production from the Sable Offshore Energy Inc. production facility offshore Nova Scotia was anticipated to return to “near-normal levels” Tuesday after losing an unspecified amount of output during the gas days of Sunday and Monday (see Daily GPI, Feb. 26). However, due to impending cold weather and high demand, M&N said it will restrict creation of due-pipe imbalances and payback of due-shipper imbalances beginning Wednesday until further notice. A spokesman for Sable operator ExxonMobil said Tuesday afternoon production was back in the facility’s normal range of 400-500 MMcf/d.

Columbia Gas declared a force majeure situation Tuesday involving mechanical failure of a unit at Station Camp Compressor Station in Estill County, KY, and said all interruptible and 25% of firm production on Line KA1 south of the station must shut in immediately until further notice. Repairs are expected to be completed in three to four days, Columbia said.

Saying it “anticipated significant market load in conjunction with below-normal temperatures forecast for much of its market area,” Transco said effective with Wednesday’s gas day it will not allow any imbalance-related nominations that would reduce system linepack, “regardless of shippers’ current imbalance positions.” Transco also said it will disallow any incremental Loan quantities or the return of Parked gas under Rate Schedule PAL and will not allow excess storage withdrawals under Rate Schedules GSS or WSS. In addition, it planned to reduce the pool scheduling tolerance to 1% Wednesday.

Southern California Gas lost 50 MMcf/d of injection capacity Monday when it began a change-out of Unit #5’s exhaust bundle at the Honor Ranch storage facility. The work is scheduled to last through March 10.

A day after raising capacity through the Delhi Constraint Point to 1,630,000 Dth/d (see Daily GPI, Feb. 26), Columbia Gulf added another 20,000 Dth/d of Delhi capacity Tuesday.

TGT has added the South Hayes #1 receipt point on the West Supply Lateral to its master location list.

Effective with Cycle 1 nominations for Wednesday’s gas day Questar began accepting flexed nominations in its ML 104 segment. Last Saturday it had limited ML 104 to only tier 1 (primary to primary) nominations (see Daily GPI, Feb. 22). Questar said it will evaluate operating conditions on an ongoing basis to determine the amount of flexed nominations that can be accepted.
