Cheyenne Plains (CP) said it has contracted for IT service from CIG “that will allow CP to raise the pressure on the west end of its pipeline, increasing operationally available system capacity, effectively serving as a partial short-term replacement for our disabled compression.” The agreement with CIG will provide transportation for shippers delivering to CP from CIG, WIC and Rockies Express, CP said. The service is expected to commence in mid-October subject to completion of necessary piping modifications on the CIG and CP systems. No additional nomination procedures will be required for shippers desiring to deliver gas to CP, the pipeline said. “Depending on the downstream pressures on the CP system, this transportation service should allow an increase in the Cheyenne Plains West (CPW) operationally available capacity to approximately 540 MMcf/d and the Cheyenne Plains East (CPE) operationally available capacity to approximately 590 MMcf/d. This effectively increases our post-incident [see Daily GPI, Sept. 18] CP operationally available capacity from 465 MMcf/d to 590 MMcf/d.”

Based on the results of September pig runs, Northwest will perform anomaly investigations Oct. 16-31 between the Willard and Washougal compressor stations. During this work available capacity through Willard will be reduced from 533,000 Dth/d to 350,000 Dth/d. Recent primary scheduled volumes through the station have been in the 319,000-358,000 Dth/d range while total scheduled volumes have ranged from 337,000 Dth/d to 410,000 Dth/d. If primary nominations exceed the available capacity during the work, Northwest will declare a Deficiency Period and cut nominations accordingly.

Tennessee will suspend physical flows at the Agua Dulce meter in South Texas Oct. 29-Nov. 1 while it replaces pipe at Compressor Station 1.

Referring to a scheduled mainline outage Saturday and Sunday at its Toutle River crossing, which is just south of the Jackson Prairie storage facility (see Daily GPI, Oct. 3), Northwest noted that previously it had said it would be unable to flow any physical gas through the point. But to meet primary firm nomination requests, Northwest said, it has arranged with various parties to be able to schedule south-flow volumes up to 70,000 Dth Saturday and up to 30,000 Dth Sunday. “These arrangements are based on Northwest’s anticipation that the work will be completed in the afternoon of Oct. 14,” the pipeline said. “If this happens, Northwest will post a notice announcing the increased available capacity as soon as the information becomes available.”
