Florida Gas Transmission tightened the tolerance for negative daily imbalances from 20% to 15% in extending an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers into its sixth day Thursday.

Citing high demand on its south system, Southern Natural Gas said it was unable to make deliveries to the interconnect with Petal Gas Storage in Mississippi. Southern cut the point to “protected quantities” effective with Intraday 1 nominations Thursday and said deliveries will be reduced to zero on the Timely cycle for Friday’s gas day. Southern also said it capped ISS (interruptible storage service) withdrawals Thursday and could be further limiting ISS withdrawals Friday until further notice. The pipeline added Creole R/S to a list of 12 receipt points behind the offshore Gate 6 platform that have been approved for flow resumption (see Daily GPI, Aug. 9).

Northwest initiated a Declared Deficiency Period Thursday in connection with a pig run between the Lava Hot Springs and Pocatello compressor stations. Primary firm nomination requests through Lava Hot Springs compressor have exceeded the available capacity of 588,000 Dth/d, the pipeline said. Based on a design capacity of 648,000 Dth/d, the Daily Deficiency Volume is 60,000 Dth/d, Northwest said, adding that the Declared Deficiency Period was expected to last 24 hours. Northwest also said it detected a “possible leak” on a loop line about 39 miles west of the Pocatello Compressor Station and was in the process of isolating the affected section for further inspection. During this work Northwest will only be able to provide service through the mainline, and thus it reduced available capacity at the Burley Compressor Station to 452,000 Dth/d Thursday until further notice.

Northwest reminded customers of an upcoming unit inspection at the Caldwell Compressor Station that is scheduled for Monday through Friday next week. During this work available capacity at the station will be reduced from 451,000 Dth/d to 412,000 Dth/d. Current primary nominations through Caldwell exceed 449,000 Dth/d, Northwest warned, and if that situation continues, it will declare a Deficiency Period and/or issue an OFO as necessary. Northwest anticipates that the station design capacity of 451,000 Dth/d will be restored Saturday (Aug. 18).

Due to mandated Louisiana state highway construction work in the Lafayette area, the natural gas liquids line serving as an outlet for the Hess-operated Sea Robin Gas Processing Plant will be required to shut in for an estimated 24 hours next Wednesday, Sea Robin Pipeline said. The plant will continue to dehydrate gas during the outage. All producers behind the plant should take their nominations to zero for Wednesday’s gas day, the pipeline said.

Southern California Gas will lose 140 MMcf/d of injection capacity at its Aliso Canyon storage facility Tuesday during replacement of a fuel valve and a test operation on some equipment.

Dominion said it took Cherry Tree Compressor Station out of service Wednesday for unplanned repairs, requiring a 50% reduction of production in bubble 5211. Barring unforeseen circumstances, Dominion hopes to have the station back in service late next week.
