Transwestern said Thursday morning the most recent update on a fire that had been threatening Station 4 in Klagetoh, AZ (see Daily GPI, July 5) was favorable. The incident command post for directing firefighting operations had been moved off the road to Transwestern’s station to a location about 10 miles south of the station. The remaining issue in the Station 4 area was back fires that appeared to be almost contained, the pipeline said. The “incident commander has indicated that it is possible that by mid-afternoon the situation will be contained to the extent [Transwestern] can possibly resume service at the station,” a bulletin board posting said. Based on current information, the posting continued, Transwestern would be accepting full shipper Timely cycle nominations for Friday’s gas day and would raise Thoreau West system capacity from 1,040,000 MMBtu/d to 1,210,000 MMBtu/d.

El Paso also had wildfire problems recently, issuing late Tuesday a warning of Strained Operating Condition (SOC) due to a forest fire west of Navajo Lake in San Juan Basin (“currently being referred to as the Rattlesnake Fire”) threatening basin production. However, in an update Thursday, El Paso said New Mexico fire officials had indicated that the fire “is now 70% contained and no longer poses a threat to San Juan area production. The SOC warning has been canceled but customers are encouraged to continue monitoring their production and [to] monitor the fire updates in case of flare-ups.” Columbia Gulf reported completion of pigging work on its 300 Line between Banner and Corinth and said capacity at the Delhi (LA) Constraint Point (see Daily GPI, July 3) would be raised to 2,007,000 Dth/d Friday.

Northwest said anomaly investigations between the Pleasant View and La Plata compressor stations, originally scheduled to begin July 10, have been postponed by one day. The work, now set for July 11-Sept. 7, will lower available capacity at Pleasant View from 352,000 Dth/d to 318,000 Dth/d.

Sea Robin will reduce capacity at its South Louisiana interconnect with Sabine Pipe Line to 175,000 Dth/d effective Friday until further notice in order to maintain operations at the Erath Compressor Station.
