Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline in the United States (Maritimes US) reported being informed by the operator of the Sable Offshore Energy Project (SOEP) that a shutdown of SOEP processing facilities is now scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. CDT Friday and continue through June 7. The outage previously had been planned for May 26-31 (see Daily GPI, May 11). Maritimes US said it understands that no supply will be available from SOEP during this period, so due to limited operational flexibility it will not be allowing any due-shipper imbalance resolution or creation of due-pipe imbalances.

A gas quality problem at the Enogex-WAGGS-Wheeler receipt point in Wheeler County, TX (Midcontinent Zone) was reported to NGPL. Effective Thursday until further notice, transport scheduling at this point will not be available, NGPL said.

Less than a third of the way through the traditional seven-month (April through October) injection season, the two Southern Natural Gas storage facilities in Louisiana and Mississippi are three-fourths full. As of May 25 inventories stood at 45.1 Bcf, or 75% of its 60.0 Bcf total working gas capacity, Southern said Wednesday. That compares with 30.7 Bcf (51%) on May 26, 2005 and 29.3 Bcf (49%) on May 27, 2004. The pipeline imposed restrictions on interruptible storage transactions last week (see Daily GPI, May 25).
