After a string of high-inventory OFOs this summer, usually onweekends but occasionally on a weekday, Pacific Gas & Electriccame up with a new wrinkle Tuesday: a low-inventory OFO takingeffect today with a 3% tolerance for negative daily imbalances. Theutility projected that its linepack would remain below targetlevels through Friday.

Northwest is accepting no balancing nominations for today orThursday at the south end of its system due to tie-in work on its26-inch line at Mancos, CO. Operators of the Jackson PrairieStorage Facility attached to Northwest have requested a totalshutdown during Sept. 7-11 expansion work.

Union Gas Ltd. is taking bids through 1 p.m. EDT Thursday for peakstorage service at its Dawn, ON, market hub. Between 1 and 2 Bcf ofcapacity will become available for injections starting Sept. 1. Dawnhas a total working capacity of 130 Bcf and six pipeline interconnects(three to TransCanada) that allow access to 15 pipelines andLDCs. This open season is in addition to Dawn capacity auctionedearlier this month (see Daily GPI, Aug. 11), said Union’s Michelle Cook.
