Citing anticipated cold weather conditions, MRT issued a System Protection Warning that took effect Saturday until further notice. All transportation customers are required to balance receipts and deliveries, MRT said, and it will not allow any imbalances that result in an underdelivery of supplies.

Florida Gas Transmission did not extend an Overage Alert Day notice beyond Thursday, but cautioned customers in its market area Friday that with another cold front predicted to move into central Florida over the weekend, they should be aware of the potential that FGT might declare another Overage Alert Day for an upcoming gas day.

CenterPoint lifted Friday a systemwide alert that was issued Jan. 14 and barred long positions on its system due to warmer than normal temperatures in its service area causing the pipeline’s aggregate storage levels to be “higher than projected for this time of winter withdrawal season.”

NOVA said there is potential for an IT restriction at its Alberta Eastern Gate (EGAT) Monday through Thursday this week due to planned maintenance at Jenner Compressor Station. EGAT capability could be as low as about 7,766 MMcf/d with zero storage withdrawal, the pipeline said. Withdrawals from storage may increase the EGAT capability depending on the location of the withdrawal, it added.

Questar said Friday operational concerns have arisen over sulfur contamination in liquids recovered on its Southern System, primarily between the Fidlar and Price Stations. The pipeline reminded area producers that its tariff specification for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is one-fourth grain H2S per 100 cubic feet. The tariff specification for total sulfur is no more than five grains of sulfur per Mcf, of which not more than two grains can be mercaptan sulfur, Questar said. It planned to contact area producers to ensure compliance with the specifications beginning last Friday.

Tennessee said Friday it was ending a Sept. 30, 2005 force majeure declaration caused by Hurricane Rita for meters upstream of the Johnson Bayou Separation and Dehydration Facility in southwest Louisiana. It also partially rescinded the force majeure declarations for meters upstream of the Pecan Island Compressor Station and Separation and Dehydration Facility and the Grand Chenier Processing Plant and Separation and Dehydration Facility. However, due to operational issues outside of Tennessee’s control, several meters in the affected areas still remain unavailable for service; see the bulletin board for a list.

Columbia Gulf said it would reduce capacity at the Sonat-Shadyside Meter Station to zero effective Saturday (Feb. 11) until further notice.

Saying it was responding to shipper interest, CIG extended the deadline of its binding open season for capacity on an expansion of its Raton Basin and east of Campo area systems (see Daily GPI, Jan. 20) to 4 p.m. MCT March 3. The open season previously had been scheduled to end last Friday.
