Transwestern is holding a nonbinding open season through 3 p.m. CST Friday to solicit interest in a proposed expansion of its West Texas Lateral to serve customers transporting natural gas to pipelines and storage facilities in the Waha market area. As proposed, the expansion would consist of about 26 miles of 20-, 24- and 30-inch diameter loop pipe on the lateral. Initial design capacity would be up to 110 MMcf/d, but that could be increased if customer commitments warrant it. Transwestern currently estimates a project in-service date in the second quarter of 2007. In conjunction with the West Texas Lateral Expansion, Transwestern said it is contemplating the construction of a new pipeline lateral to connect to the proposed underground Waha Storage and Hub project under development by ScottishPower subsidiary Enstor, Inc. (information available at www.enstorinc.com). The project will have a working capacity of 9.5 Bcf, peak withdrawal capability of 800,000 MMBtu/d and peak injection capability of 450,000 MMBtu/d. The Transwestern-Enstor lateral would consist of about 10 miles of 20-inch diameter pipeline and would have delivery and receipt capacity of 200,000 MMBtu/d. See Transwestern’s bulletin board for further details.
