Columbia Gulf reported discovering a leak on its 20-inch line upstream of the Eugene Island 250 platform in the Block 264 area. It said Eugene Island 331B, 314B, 314C, 314A and 271, where Columbia Gulf and Tennessee both have meters, and Eugene Island 294A, 338A, 315A and 316A, where Tennessee has the sole meter, will be required to shut in once repairs begin. Florida Gas Transmission ended Friday an Overage Alert Day notice that had been implemented on the previous Sunday.

Northwest thanked customers “for their timely response and assistance in reducing the north-flow throughput volumes through the Vernal compressor station” for Friday’s gas day, averting a potential OFO (see Daily GPI, Sept. 15). The pipeline added that due to lower ambient temperatures, it is currently able to physically flow more gas north through Vernal than previously estimated. North-flow operational capacity through Vernal was increased to 370,000 Dth/d effective with Evening Cycle nominations for Friday. Northwest said it will continue trying to maximize north-flow capacity on the south end of its system, but if customer requests exceed the operational capacity, it will cut alternate gas in the corridor before declaring an OFO.

Gulf South said Thursday afternoon it had added the Mobil Refin[ery]-Chalmette to a list of system locations that have been verified as operational again following Hurricane Katrina-related outages. See the bulletin board for postings on which points have previously been cleared and those that remain offline.

Transco announced a second postponement in the anticipated completion date of integrity testing on facilities downstream of Station 50 near Eunice, LA. When it announced the project last month, Transco expected to finish the work Sept. 10, but last week it said delays associated with the effects of Hurricane Katrina had pushed back completion to Sept. 16 (see Daily GPI, Sept. 9). On Friday Transco said it now expects to return the facilities to service Tuesday.

Citing unforeseen engine maintenance required at its Patterson (LA) Compressor Station, ANR said the work will cut total delivery capacity between Patterson and the Eunice (LA) Compressor Station to 625 MMcf/d Monday and Tuesday. Based on current nominations for this segment, ANR said Friday, IT nominations are expected to be curtailed.

NGPL said a gas quality problem at the Lone Star-Panola receipt point in Panola County, TX had been corrected and it planned to resume scheduling transport from the point Saturday (Sept. 17).
