Although linepack remains high in all four segments, Kern River said the corrective action it took Wednesday to reduce linepack (see Daily GPI, June 30), in conjunction with other drafting, meant that no additional cuts were necessary for Thursday’s gas day. The pipeline will continue to monitor daily banking and take corrective action again if necessary throughout the holiday weekend. It also will not accept any banking arrangements through the weekend. “Kern River reminds its shippers that it will be in their best interest to rank their supply nominations in the event that additional delivery point cuts are necessary,” a bulletin board posting said.

ANR said Thursday it now expects to complete repairs to compression equipment and buildings at its Custer Compressor Station near Weatherford, OK by July 8. The station was heavily damaged on the night of May 10 when a pipeline ruptured nearby (see Daily GPI, May 12). An ANR spokesman said an investigation later identified an Enogex Gas Gathering line as the one that ruptured. ANR is not scheduling Firm Secondary and IT services in the area and along the Southwest Mainline until the repairs are finished, but said the incident has not impacted it ability to meet Firm Primary obligations.

TransCanada said that through July, partial bypass of the Empress extraction plants at the Alberta border will result in higher heating values to downstream deliveries on its Canadian Mainline and Foothills Saskatchewan pipeline. Six plants were knocked offline last week by power outages and other damage resulting from violently stormy weather (see Daily GPI, June 24). Inter Pipeline Fund said its Empress V facility resumed operation Tuesday (see Daily GPI, June 30). Effective with the start of Friday’s gas day, TransCanada will adjust July posted heat values to 37.80 MJ/m3 (megajoules per cubic meter) for both the Empress and McNeill borders.
