Due to additional work required at Amber Station, CenterPoint will extend the duration of maintenance that began March 22 (see Daily GPI, March 14) through April 28, keeping station capacity (West 1 segment) limited to 330,000 Dth/d. The work, previously expected to end Friday (April 22), is causing curtailment of firm receipt capacity, but does not affect CenterPoint’s ability to make firm deliveries.

NGPL reported having concluded negotiations and successfully executing precedent agreements for a proposed 10.3 Bcf expansion of its North Lansing storage facility in Harrison County, TX. Expansion capacity was offered to customers in an open season last month (see Daily GPI, March 1).The pipeline said it anticipates moving forward with making the necessary regulatory filings for this project.

Southern Natural said it has identified a section of the 26-inch diameter Main Pass Area Line that, due to Hurricane Ivan’s passage last summer, has insufficient cover to remain in regulatory compliance. In order to lower the line to provide sufficient cover, Southern Natural must reduce its current operating pressure. “If permits can be obtained and the line lowered prior to the completion of the Hurricane Ivan repairs, no impact to flowing supply is anticipated. However, if permits cannot be expedited, some reduction in capacity…will be required at a yet to be determined time,” the pipeline said.

Questar said that while performing maintenance during recent reservoir testing at the Clay Basin storage facility, it discovered mechanical problems that require replacement of equipment. The estimated time to complete repairs is four to six weeks. Until then, injection capacity will be limited to 265,000 Dth/d.

El Paso said Line 1200 valve replacement work previously scheduled for April 28-29 will be done on April 27-28 instead, reducing capacity of the North Mainline by 105 MMcf/d each day. There will be no North Mainline capacity reduction on April 29.

TransCanada is holding an open season through 3 p.m. MDT May 18 for Firm Transportation Service (FT) and Storage Transportation Service (STS) on its Canadian Mainline system.
