Transwestern has scheduled all nominations to zero at its Needles delivery interconnect into the Southern California Gas system through March 7 while it installs pig launchers and receivers to improve pipeline integrity. The work began Tuesday. Transwestern also cut La Plata (CO) Station capacity to zero Tuesday as it began three days of compressor unit exchanges; normal station capacity is 500,000 MMBtu/d. The La Plata work affects the Northwest/Ignacio, Williams/Ignacio, BP Florida and Red Cedar/La Plata interconnects. And in another project that began Tuesday, Transwestern is replacing valves at the El Paso Blanco delivery interconnect. There was no flow at the point Tuesday. For Wednesday and Thursday, the Elm Ridge Resources and Red Cedar Arkansas Loop receipt interconnects will only be able to deliver gas to Questar Bloomfield and El Paso Blanco and/or through the Blanco Hub to Thoreau.

Calling it “a worst case time frame,” Questar said West Texas Gas has extended its work to fix recent mechanical failures at the Davis Plant processing facility through Thursday’s gas day. The work has left Questar unable to make deliveries to TransColorado since last Friday (see Daily GPI, Feb. 28).

NOVA is cutting firm service in the area to 23% of normal when it begins pipe maintenance in Segment # 1 (Upper Peace River Mainline) at the start of Wednesday’s gas day. The maintenance is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. MST Friday. The Hotchkiss North meter station is excluded from the curtailment.

Transco still plans a smart pig run for March 9 between Station 35 north of Houston and Station 40 in Hardin County, TX. However, a second pig run originally scheduled for March 16 is now set to take place a day later, Transco said Tuesday. Thus the associated service restrictions that would have occurred on the March 15-16 gas days (see Daily GPI, Feb. 18) will instead take place March 16-17.
