Northern Natural Gas kept a System Overrun Limitation in place Saturday and Sunday, then lifted it Monday. NNG said early Monday afternoon that a mechanical problem caused a force majeure situation at the Chatfield (MN) Compressor Station. Based on weather forecasts, there was potential for some level of curtailment on the LaCrosse/Tomah branchline as a result, NNG said. Citing “an extended period of high-withdrawal volumes,” Questar begin limiting withdrawals at its Clay Basin storage facility to 470,000 Dth/d effective with last Saturday’s Cycle 1 nominations.

Gulf South reported Monday it had begun unscheduled maintenance that will continue until further notice on FPL 9 offshore Louisiana due to freezing problems. Three meters are affected. Gulf South also has scheduled about 10 hours of maintenance on Index 299 (the 16-inch line from Petal Storage in Mississippi to Baxterville) at 8 a.m. CST Wednesday. Locations affected include two farm taps and Petal Storage, the pipeline said.

Kern River is taking bids through noon MST March 16 for 90,000 Dth/d of KRF-1 firm incremental capacity associated with its 2003 Expansion Project that has become available as a result of the contract being terminated in a bankruptcy proceeding. The capacity will be available for the winning bidder(s) beginning in April 2004. It has Opal as the primary receipt point along with Wheeler Ridge-SoCalGas (12,897 Dth/d) and Daggett-PG&E (77,103 Dth/d) as the primary delivery points, but other receipt/delivery points may be requested subject to availability.
