Due to a storm-related power failure Monday afternoon at the Opal Plant, operator Williams Field Services said it planned to make Cycle 4 nominations cuts of 200-250 MMcf “from a current delivery nomination of 1,014,275 Mcf.” However, a WFS spokesman said the power outage lasted only about three hours and that Gas Control had reported a sendout of close to 1 Bcf that day, so apparently any curtailments were minor. No constraints were in effect Tuesday for Opal nominations of about 900 MMcf/d, he said.

The operator of the Grand Chenier Processing Plant in southwest Louisiana has informed Tennessee that the plant will shut down Thursday through the end of September. Although gas processing will be suspended during this period, dehydration will continue. Tennessee said it expects the Btu content and hydrocarbon dew point level of supplies in its system (in particular the 800 Line) to increase. Based on the time of year, current operating conditions and past experience, the pipeline does not expect this shutdown to adversely affect operations, but if that happens, “Tennessee will implement actions to address the adverse conditions.” Effective Thursday customers must cut their PTR nominations for delivery to the Grand Chenier facility to zero.

Current operational conditions allowed an increase in San Juan Crossover capacity to 628 MMcf/d effective with Tuesday’s Cycle 3 nominations, El Paso said.

Trunkline reported an outage at the North Judson Compressor Station in northwest Indiana for ongoing maintenance that began Monday. Expected duration of the outage is two weeks. It will limit capacity for the North Judson segment to 590 MMcf/d.

Columbia Gas has continued to extend Critical Day designations for Market Area 34 in southeastern Virginia (see Daily GPI, Sept. 5) through at least Wednesday and apparently will do so until further notice.
