Citing high linepack and anticipation of low demand over the holiday weekend, Tennessee issued a systemwide OFO Action Alert effective with the beginning of Friday’s gas day and said it expected the alert to remain in effect through Monday. Its bulletin board posting listed actions that customers under Rate Schedules SA, LMS-PA and LMS-MA could take to avoid penalties.

Southern California Gas issued an Overnominations Day notice that would take effect with Timely Cycle nominations Friday.

Pacific Gas & Electric declared a systemwide Stage 2 high-inventory OFO for Friday. Penalties were $1/Dth for violation of a 10% tolerance for positive daily imbalances.

MRT issued a System Protection Warning Thursday that would remain in effect through Monday. Shippers were advised that MRT was not accepting either long positions on a daily basis or gas to eliminate short imbalance positions.

Questar has scheduled a compressor engine replacement and annual Department of Transportation testing at Eakin Station for Monday through Friday this week. Depending on operating conditions and shipper nominations, deliveries to Northwest at Crossover 16 and to Kern River at Roberson Creek may be impacted, Questar said.

NOVA restored its imbalance tolerance range to the normal +4/-4 Thursday after having changed it to 0/-4 a day earlier due to excess linepack.

Westcoast reported finding a leak on the regeneration column shell of Pine River Gas Plant’s A raw gas stripping train. The new leak is similar to one that developed on the B train about a week earlier, Westcoast said. Repairs were set to begin at 8 a.m. MDT Friday and last about 12 hours. Shippers were asked to limit Pine River production deliveries to 81% of their firm acid gas treatment entitlement during the repair period and then resume pre-event delivery volumes.

Questar is no longer confirming nominations at the Muddy Creek meter because it has elected to use the new bidirectional Roberson Creek meter (see Daily GPI, June 30) for increased delivery capabilities into Kern River, and deliveries cannot be made at both Roberson Creek and Muddy Creek simultaneously.

Tennessee said its 527A-700 riser and valve replacement project had been completed and it resumed accepting nominations Thursday at the West Delta 109 Dehyd, South Pass 78 Dehyd, South Pass 57A, West Delta [unspecified block] and South Pass Block 55 Fuel meters. Due to continuing work in the area, the South Pass Block 77A and South Pass 77 meters are scheduled to remain out of service through July 17, the pipeline said.
