Charif Souki, Tellurian Inc. co-founder and one of the architects of the U.S. LNG export industry, has been replaced as the executive chairman of his latest firm established to build the Driftwood LNG project.

Houston-based Tellurian disclosed that the company’s other co-founder, Martin Houston, had been tapped to take over as chairman of the board as Souki was removed from any executive or managerial positions. Souki currently is still on the board of directors, according to Tellurian.

“These changes are not the result of any material or unexpected financial events,” Tellurian said.
