Venture Global LNG, with two proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects underway in Louisiana, has hired Jim Strohman as a senior vice president and project director for Calcasieu Pass LNG in Louisiana. Strohman spent 17 years with Dominion Energy, where he most recently was project director for the Dominion Cove Point LNG facility, the sole LNG export project in operation on the East Coast. Strohman directed Cove Point from planning to initial operation. Strohman is also a retired commander of the U.S. Navy Reserve, where he served for more than 20 years. Calcasieu LNG is scheduled to begin operating in 2022, with Venture’s Plaquemines LNG start up scheduled for 2023.

Pennsylvania Court Splits Act 13 Injunctions

Nearly three weeks after ruling that portions of Act 13, Pennsylvania’s new omnibus Marcellus Shale law, were unconstitutional, the Commonwealth Court on Wednesday ordered that an injunction against the law’s preemption provision will remain in place pending appeal, while one affecting setback waivers is lifted.

Pennsylvania Asks State Supreme Court to Expedite Act 13 Appeal

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is asking the state Supreme Court to expedite its appeal of an appellate court ruling that said portions of Act 13, the state’s new omnibus Marcellus Shale law, are unconstitutional.
