Cheniere Energy Partners LP’s Sabine Pass Liquefaction LLC has struck agreements with Total Gas & Power North America Inc. whereby Sabine Liquefaction would progressively gain access to Total’s sendout capacity provided under its terminal use agreement (TUA) with Sabine Pass LNG LP.

BP Canada Energy Marketing Co. and Secure Energy Inc. have struck a long-term natural gas sales agreement whereby BP will purchase up to 67 MMcf/d of gas from the proposed Secure Energy Decatur Gasification Plant to be built in Illinois once the plant becomes operational. Secure Energy will have the option to separately sell gas to industrial customers in the Decatur, IL, area for a portion of its production, and BP has agreed to purchase any gas not sold locally. The Decatur plant would convert 1.4 million tons of high-sulfur Illinois coal into more than 20 Bcf of gas each year. The projected plant construction cost is estimated to be $550 million. The plant is expected to be in operation in the summer of 2011.

Bonavista Energy Trust Announces C$275 Million Canadian Property Acquisition

Calgary-based Bonavista Energy Trust announced Tuesday it has entered into an agreement whereby, through a series of transactions, it will pay C$275 Million for all of the Canadian oil and natural gas assets from a privately held U.S.-controlled corporation.

Prebon Energy Submits Data to IntercontinentalExchange

IntercontinentalExchange Inc. (ICE) Wednesday announced an agreement whereby Prebon Energy Inc. will submit its brokered trade records to Intercontinental’s eConfirm platform and its trade database used in compiling market indices. ICE said Prebon is the first voice broker to use its digital infrastructure in this manner.

Blue Dolphin, American Resources to Merge

Blue Dolphin Energy Co. and American Resources Offshore Inc.(ARO) have agreed to a merger plan, whereby ARO will become a subsidiary of the Houston-based independent. As part of the deal, Blue Dolphin will acquire all of the outstanding shares of ARO’s common and preferred stock it doesn’t already own, and give ARO shareholders one Blue Dolphin share for every 36.2 shares of ARO stock.

Calgary Independents Compton, Hornet to Merge

Two Calgary-based oil and natural gas independents, Compton Petroleum Corp. and Hornet Energy Ltd., have entered into a pre-acquisition agreement whereby Compton will purchase all of the common shares of Hornet for C$2 a share, or C$40.2 million, including C$8.2 million of net debt. Hornet’s reserves total 4.4 MMboe, including 20.5 Bcf, and 70% are proven. Hornet also has 22,000 acres of undeveloped land.
