Vector Pipeline LP is holding an open season for capacity that would potentially double its 1.3 Bcf/d pipeline, which now carries supplies between the Chicago Hub and the Dawn, ON, storage hub. The project, which would also retrofit the pipeline for bidirectional flow, would catch some of the burgeoning Appalachian Basin natural gas by accessing other pipelines.

DTE Pipeline Co. began Tuesday began operation of its Bluestone Gathering pipeline system in Susquehanna County, PA. The southern portion of the pipeline connects gas production of Southwestern Energy to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Lenox Township, PA (see Shale Daily, July 6, 2011). The pipeline has a capacity of 275 million cubic feet per day. The remaining 32 miles of pipeline will interconnect with the Millennium Pipeline in Sanford, NY and should be completed in January, DTE said. Bluestone Gathering is being developed as the Bluestone Pipeline Co. of Pennsylvania LLC, Bluestone Gas Corp. of New York Inc. and Susquehanna Gathering Co. I LLC, all of which are subsidiaries of DTE Pipeline, an affiliate of DTE Energy. Bluestone is DTE’s first natural gas gathering project outside Michigan. DTE Pipeline also is a 40% owner of the Vector Pipeline, 26.25% owner of the Millennium Pipeline and 33% owner of the recently announced Nexus Gas Transmission System.

Vector Pipeline announced the appointment of John Donaldson to vice president of marketing, Linda Maiorana to general manager of accounting and regulatory and administration and Matt Malinowski to manager of market development. Donaldson will be responsible for short and long term sales, market development, customer service and new service development. Maiorana will provide financial and regulatory oversight and contract administration. Malinowski will be responsible for new business opportunities. IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), an online marketplace for over-the-counter (OTC) energy and metals products, announced the appointment of David S. Goone as senior vice president.Goone will be responsible for expanding ICE’s product line. He joins ICE from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange where he was managing director/senior vice president product marketing.
