Most Cash Points Rise as Traders Prepare for ‘Strange’ Bidweek

Significantly below-normal temperatures in a number of regions of the United States allowed a vast majority of natural gas cash market points on Wednesday to add to the gains established on Monday and Tuesday, while a few eastern and Gulf Coast points recorded declines of a few pennies to almost a quarter.

TransCanada’s proposal for a gasline to commercialize Alaska’s vast North Slope reserves depends upon the state’s three major producers “solving a maze of problems in Canada…and does not merit state support,” a former Alaska governor wrote in a recent newspaper editorial.

Cash Market Remains Firm as Futures Drop

Keeping the theme intact of moving mostly as a whole on a daily basis, a vast majority of cash points finished out the week with gains on Friday, recording hikes that ranged mostly from a few pennies to a quarter. A few El Paso points out West were some of the only losers on the day, shedding a couple of pennies apiece. It was an up and down week. Friday’s gains built on increases Thursday. Monday and Wednesday showed overall declines offset by widespread increases Tuesday.
