Calypso Pulls Plug on Offshore Florida Pipeline Project

Calypso U.S. Pipeline LLC has notified FERC that it has abandoned its undersea pipeline project, which was destined to deliver regasified liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a deepwater port offshore Florida to customers in the Sunshine State.

PG&E CEO: NW Power, Gas Pipe Projects Stalled

With a potential equity and energy interest in both, Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) views major interstate natural gas pipeline and electric transmission projects in the Pacific Northwest as treading water, awaiting other key market and regulatory developments, according to PG&E Corp. CEO Peter Darbee, speaking on a conference call with financial analysts last Wednesday. For now, the projects are in what Darbee called the San Francisco-based combination utility’s “far-end guidance period” (2012-13).

Dynegy Rumored to be Close on Sale of UK Storage Facility

Dynegy Inc. is close to selling the largest natural gas storage asset in Europe, its undersea storage facility Rough, which is located off the northeastern coast of Great Britain, according to Reuters sources. Dynegy, then set to blaze a trail through Europe, paid more than $600 million for Rough and a large package of storage and pipeline assets from UK-based BG Group plc last year (see Daily GPI, Nov. 29, 2001).
