Kinder Pipes Offering Texas Capacity to Serve Mexico

Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) is holding a nonbinding open season through March 10 for firm natural gas transportation service on its Kinder Morgan Border Pipeline LLC (KM Border) and Kinder Morgan Tejas Pipeline LLC (KM Tejas) to serve the growing demand for natural gas supplies in Mexico.

Explosion Shuts Segment of Kinder’s Tejas Pipeline in South Texas

At about 12:30 a.m. CST Wednesday, Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) discovered a natural gas release and fire on its Tejas pipeline system in a rural area of Refugio County, TX. The affected pipeline segment was shut down, and company personnel were dispatched to the site, KMI said.

Driven by record 52% growth in 2001 — with generous support from its general partner — Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) reported Thursday it expects to have 10-15% growth through the year. Earnings were driven “significantly” by KMI’s ownership of the general partner of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP (KMP), which saw its earnings grow 59% from a year earlier.
