Boston-based BEC Energy and Commonwealth Energy System completedtheir merger into $4.5 billion NSTAR last Wednesday – one day afterwinning approval for the transaction from the Securities andExchange Commission.

The proposed marriage of KN Energy Inc. and Kinder Morgan Inc.has passed federal antitrust review and has been verbally approvedby Colorado regulators, which puts the deal on track to becompleted in the early fourth quarter, the companies said.

Northern Natural Gas said it lifted a System Underrun Limitationthat had been posted for Tuesday and today.

A very divided FERC last week proposed a rulemaking that seeksto create a uniform, complaint-driven system for regulating nearlyall offshore gas pipelines based on its authority under thelighter-handed Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA).
