Hoping the second time is the charm, Duke subsidiary TexasEastern Transmission announced Wednesday an open season for 300,000Dth/d of firm capacity on its proposed Spectrum Pipeline project.The open season will last from May 7 to June 4.

Unocal Buying Large Stake in Northrock

Unocal Corp. subsidiary Unocal Canada Resources is buying a 46%stake in Calgary-based Northrock Resources Ltd. for C$265 million(US$175 million). The company has average daily gross production of160 MMcf/d of gas and 11,000 b/d of crude oil and gas liquids andholds net proved reserves of 35 million bbl of oil and liquids and363 Bcf of gas. Northrock also has valued its exploration assets(land and seismic) at C$132 million (US$88 million).

Dominion, CNG Seeking Power Plant Options

Dominion Resources Inc. of Richmond, VA, and a subsidiary ofPittsburgh-based Consolidated Natural Gas Co. signed an agreementto develop gas-fired power generation facilities along CNG’spipeline system. Dominion Resources and CNG power company willidentify and evaluate potential sites for development of facilitiesalong CNG’s natural gas pipeline network in Ohio, Pennsylvania, NewYork, West Virginia and Virginia. Dominion Resources and CNGaffiliates will develop, own, operate and maintain the facilitieson a 50-50 ownership basis.

Nipsco: Interest in Crossroads More than Expected

Crossroads Pipeline Co., a subsidiary of Nipsco Industries, saidThursday its open season to test shipper interest in the CrossroadsPipeline expansion exceeded the company’s expectations. Companiesexpressed interest in over 600,000 Dth/d for the proposedinterconnect. The open season for the Crossroads expansion beganFebruary 16 and ended March 31.
