El Paso Energy Partners Seals $782 Million San Juan Basin Asset Deal

El Paso Energy Partners LP. (EPN) said last week that it has completed its $782 million acquisition of the San Juan Basin assets from El Paso Corp. EPN first announced the deal, which includes a 5,500-mile gathering system connected to 9,600 gas wells in northwestern New Mexico, in May (see NGI, June 3).

EXCO Seals $34 Million Alberta Asset Acquisition

Dallas-based EXCO Resources Inc. reported Wednesday that Addison Energy Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EXCO, has completed the previously announced acquisition of some Alberta oil and natural gas assets from an independent Canadian producer (see Daily GPI, Nov. 28). No seller was named by the company.

TECO Seals AEP Power Plant Deal

TECO Power Services (TPS), a subsidiary of TECO Energy, reportedTuesday it has completed the acquisition of American ElectricPower’s (AEP) Frontera Power Station near McAllen, TX for $265million. The plant – located about two miles from the Mexicanborder – is capable of selling power into ERCOT as well as theMexican power grid. The deal was originally announced last month(see Daily GPI, Feb. 12).

Ringing in the new year, UtiliCorp United announced that it completed its $190 million merger with St. Joseph Light & Power on Dec. 31, 2000. The union, which has experienced a bumpy ride since its initial announcement in March 1999, creates Missouri’s fourth largest gas distributor and third largest electricity distributor (see NGI, March 8, 1999).
