Sonatrach and StatoilHydro Saturday sealed a long-term partnership to bring liquefied natural gas (LNG) to and market gas from the Cove Point receiving terminal. Sonatrach will have access to 2 billion cubic meters per year of regasification capacity at the terminal for 15 years from the beginning of 2009, and StatoilHydro will purchase 1 billion cubic meters of LNG per year from 2009 to 2014.

Skilling Asks to Remain Free on Bond; Fastow Sentence Faces Challenge
Former Enron Corp. CEO Jeffrey Skilling, scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 23, last week asked a Houston judge to allow him to remain free on bond while he appeals his conviction on 19 criminal charges (see NGI, May 29). Sources: Enron Task Force Focusing on Broadband Claims
At least five former Enron Broadband employees were named in a sealed indictment filed in federal court Tuesday, sources told the Houston Chronicle. Reporters were barred from the grand jury investigation, but sources indicated that charges would be made in connection with statements made at an analyst meeting in 2000 that may include insider trading, stock fraud and money laundering.
