PG&E Moves on Pipe System; Receives Key Rate Decision

San Francisco-based Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) said last Thursday it has hired a seasoned senior executive to run a realigned natural gas organization following the announcement that it obtained a decision from state regulators on its settlement in a $1 billion general rate case. In a busy week, the huge combination utility also began closely watched pressure testing of its natural gas transmission pipeline system.

Enterprise Products Partners LP (EPE), Duncan Energy Partners LP (DEP) and Enterprise GP Holdings LP (EPGP) realigned the boards of the respective general partners to strengthen corporate governance policies. The majority of each board now is composed of nonmanagement directors. The EPGP board is to be helmed by CEO and President Michael A. Creel, Executive Vice President (EVP) A.J. “Jim” Teague and three nonmanagement directors. The DEP board is now composed of President and CEO W. Randall Fowler and four nonmanagement directors. EPE is now run by President and CEO Ralph S. Cunningham, EVP Richard H. Bachmann and five nonmanagement directors. The changes to the boards do not impact the business units’ structures or their strategic focuses, EPE said.

Renamed, Realigned Sempra Companies Begin Operations with New Year

As it kicked off the first business day of the new year announcing developments in its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plans, San Diego-based Sempra Energy put in place its previously announced realignment of re-named companies operating in various parts of the energy industry separate from its two major California-based utilities. Part of the realignment was consolidating all LNG projects under a re-named “Sempra LNG” unit.
