Cabot Swallows Cody, Doubles Gulf Reserves

Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. completed its $230 million purchased of Cody Co., the parent company of Cody Energy LLC, doubling its reserves in the Gulf Coast region (see Daily GPI, June 22). Cabot paid Cody shareholders $181 million in cash and two million shares of its common stock with a value per the agreement of $24.497 per share.

EOTT Picks Up $120M of Enron Energy Assets

In a $120 million deal with Enron Corp., EOTT Energy Partners LP has purchased a Texas-based hydrocarbon processing complex and a natural gas liquids storage facility, as well as a liquids pipeline grid system. EOTT also signed a 10-year tolling agreement for production from the hydrocarbon complex and a 10-year storage and transportation agreement to use the pipeline and storage systems with an Enron affiliate.

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. announced it has purchasedDelta Terminal Services, Inc. for approximately $114 million incash. The acquisition “represents about half of the transactions weexpect to announce in December,” said Richard D. Kinder, KMPchairman, and brings to more than $2 billion the company’sannounced acquisitions this year. The Delta purchase includes twoliquid bulk storage terminals in New Orleans, LA, and Cincinnati,OH, providing services to producers of petroleum, chemicals andother products. “This acquisition is a great fit with our recentlyannounced GATX transaction — in which we acquired 12 terminalsacross the country — as it gives us liquids terminals in two newlocations, including access to the important Port of New Orleansmarket,” Kinder said. The New Orleans terminal has a storagecapacity of 2.5 million barrels, while the Cincinnati terminalholds 500,000 barrels.

NRG Energy Joins SRW Cogeneration LP With 50% Share

Conoco subsidiary, Conoco Global Power (CGP) has tappedsubsidiaries of NRG Energy to help own and operate SRW CogenerationLP, and its holdings. NRG Energy purchased a 50% stake in thecompany at an undisclosed cost. Currently, the partnership owns,and will operate a $260 million power facility near Orange, TX, nowunder construction.

Enterprise Purchases Coral’s Acadian Gas Pipeline

Houston’s Enterprise Products Partners L.P. has purchased Acadian Gas LLC’s extensive southern Louisiana assets, which include 1,000-plus miles of pipeline, more than 1 Bcf/d of capacity and a leased natural gas storage facility with 3.4 Bcf of capacity from Coral Energy LLC for $226 million in cash. Coral Energy, also based in Houston, is an affiliate of Shell Oil Co.

Titan to Return $281,000 To PA Consumers

The Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA) announced that Titan Energy, which was purchased by AES Power Direct, LLC for $6 million in cash at the end of July, will be returning an estimated $281,000 in uncashed deposit checks to approximately 6,300 of its Pennsylvania customers in the Columbia Gas and Peoples Natural Gas service territories (see NGI, July 31).
