A large portion of the Department of Interior’s web site was disconnected from the Internet again Tuesday after a federal district judge ruled the agency had not beefed up its computer security for information on royalties that are held and overseen by Interior in the Indian Trust Fund.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline has called on FERC to settle a flap over its bid to build an interconnect to the Columbia Gulf Transmission-operated portion of a transportation system along the coast of Louisiana that the two pipelines jointly maintain and operate.

Rescinding a portion of Tuesday’s losses, the natural gas futures market turned higher Wednesday as traders reacted to the latest forecast suggesting this week’s warm-up could be short-lived. The March contract closed at $5.356, up 3.7 cents for the session, but remained in the bottom half of its daily trading range. The out months fared better, led by the April contract, which gained 5.5 cents to close at $5.309.

Dynegy Inc. said it would use the net proceeds from the sale of an additional $50 million of debentures on Tuesday to repay a portion of its $244 million Term B loan outstanding under its restructured credit facilities. Dynegy recently completed the private placement of $175 million of its 4.75% convertible subordinated notes due in 2023, and the initial purchasers of the debentures exercised their option to purchase the additional debentures on the same terms.

As of late Friday afternoon, 33 platforms and one rig had been evacuated in the western portion of the Gulf in preparation for what was expected to become Hurricane Erika, according to Minerals Management Service. MMS spokeswoman Caryl Fagot pegged Gulf shut-ins at 134.65 MMcf/d of gas and 677 bbl of oil for Friday, which equates to about 0.96% of daily Gulf gas production and 0.04% of daily Gulf oil production.
