Northeast ConneXion To Expand Storage, Capacity

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. began an open season on its new Northeast ConneXion Project last week, which is expected to expand both its storage and pipeline capacity for its northeast markets. The storage expansion of up to 5 Bcf could provide as much as 300,000 Dth/d of incremental deliverability and will serve as the base load for the pipeline expansion. The non-binding open season ends May 31.

Ohio Retailer Ousted for Delivery Failure

Columbia Gas of Ohio said it had no other choice but toterminate Energy Max of Northeast Ohio from participation in itsCustomer Choice program after the gas supplier failed to delivergas to Columbia for transportation to Energy Max’s 8,000 OhioChoice customers for the majority of August. As supplier of lastresort, Columbia picked up the slack using its own natural gassupply.

UPR Touts Land Grant Success

Union Pacific Resources Group announced details of itsparticipation in four successful wells recently completed on itsLand Grant acreage. UPR’s net production from the wells is about 28MMcf/d of gas and 500 barrels of oil/d. The most prolific well, theChamplin 457 A No. 5, is located in the Whitney Canyon field inUinta County, WY. The company owns a 33% net revenue interest inthe well which began producing at an initial rate of 60 MMcf/d.
