Shale Patch Water Handler Bolts on More Pipe

Water handling solutions provider Heckmann Corp. has bought pumping and delivery services company Consolidated Petroleum Inc. (CPI), which serves customers conducting hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in the Haynesville and Eagle Ford shales. Heckmann said the acquisition boosts its ability to provide fresh water for fracking.

DCP Midstream LLC is buying Seaway Products Pipeline Co. from ConocoPhillips in order to create natural gas liquids (NGL) transportation capacity from the Midcontinent to higher-value markets on the Texas Gulf Coast. In doing so it will be capitalizing on a durable spread in ethane prices between the two markets, analysts said last Thursday.

Regency Expanding Eagle Ford Gathering System

Regency Energy Partners LP said it will spend about $450 million to construct a wellhead gathering system and other infrastructure in order to serve an undisclosed producer in the Eagle Ford Shale with gas and condensate gathering.
