Duke Energy Gas Transmission (DEGT) received National Energy Board (NEB) authorization to operate its expanded Fort Nelson natural gas processing plant in northeastern British Columbia. The expansion added 88 MMcf/d of processing capacity, bringing total capacity to 878 MMcf/d. The plant processes gas from fields in the Fort Nelson area, the southern Northwest Territories and the Yukon.

BP Unit Files Application with WA Regulators for 720 MW Plant

A unit of BP PLC has submitted an application with the Washington State Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council to construct and operate a 720 MW, natural gas-fired cogeneration facility in the state. Of note, BP Westcoast Products LLC is not closing the door on bringing in another company to participate in the management, development and construction of the plant in exchange for an equity interest once BP Westcoast obtains a permit.

Pioneer Adds U.S. Properties; Downgrades Argentina Assets

Pioneer Natural Resources Co. will operate its first deepwater Gulf of Mexico project, after picking up an additional 30% working interest in the Falcon field development and acreage in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico for $55 million, it said Tuesday. The Dallas-based independent also signed an agreement to purchase the assets and remaining 23% of the rights it doesn’t already own in its core area West Panhandle Field in Texas. The company is in final negotiations on another agreement to acquire the related West Panhandle field gathering system for a total of $138 million. To fund the acquisitions, Pioneer will publicly offer and sell 10 million newly issued shares of its common stock.
