Millennium Moves Another Step Closer

The 442-mile Millennium Pipeline project, which would bring 714 MMcf/d of gas to New York City from connections with the Canadian pipeline grid under Lake Erie, made progress last week when its highly contested route alternative in Westchester County, NY, gained the support of the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC), local citizens, elected officials and the pipeline’s planners. However, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) still must review all comments on the pipeline’s supplemental draft environmental impact statement (EIS) before issuing a final EIS.

Tengasco Completes Intrastate TN Pipeline

Tengasco has completed a 60-mile intrastate pipeline from itsgas-rich 50,000-acre Swan Creek gas and oil field beginning inHancock County and ending in Kingsport, TN. Geological studiesindicate that the Swan Creek field may be one of the largestnatural gas and oil discoveries in the Appalachian region of theUnited States.

Columbia Lateral Gets Green Light

Columbia Gulf Transmission got the go-ahead from FERC last weekto build a 37-mile lateral to provide natural gas service to twopower generation plants in Warren County, MS. The so-calledVicksburg lateral will transport 285 MDth/d of gas to facilities ofEntergy Mississippi Inc. (EMI) and Warren Power LLC in WarrenCounty. The lion’s share of the gas (200 MDth) will go to EMI[CP01-28].

Columbia Gulf Gets Green Light on Lateral

FERC yesterday gave Columbia Gulf Transmission the go-ahead tobuild a 37-mile lateral to provide natural gas service to two powerfacilities in Warren County in Mississippi.

Duke, Williams Buy Gulfstream Project

As was expected, Duke Energy and Williams Gas Pipeline announcedyesterday that they closed on the deal to buy Gulfstream NaturalGas System project, a 743-mile natural gas pipeline planned forFlorida, from The Coastal Corp. Terms of the transaction were notdisclosed.

DEFS Opens OK Pipeline, Consolidates Processing

Duke Energy Field Services (DEFS) began service on its newlyconstructed 12-inch, 42-mile natural gas pipeline, which travelsfrom the company’s Carney processing facility to its Kingfisherplant near Cashion, OK. The company said the line is capable ofmoving 60 MMcf/d.
