Mirant last week said that it has agreed to provide electricity to Unitil Energy Systems Inc. for transition and default service to Unitil’s New Hampshire customers. The agreement was approved by the New Hampshire Public Utility Commission (NHPUC) last Friday.

Staffs of FERC and the California State Lands Commission (CSLC) have jointly given final environmental clearance to Kern River Gas Transmission’s $1.2 billion 2003 expansion, which will more than double the existing transportation capacity of the Wyoming-to-California natural gas pipeline.

Dominion and FPL Group Inc. said Tuesday that Dominion Energy Clearinghouse has been named the sole fuel manager and fuel supplier for FPL Energy’s Doswell electricity generation facilities in Hanover County, VA.

Calgary-based Alaskan Northwest Natural Gas Transportation Co. plans to keep up to-date its 20-year-old application for a pipeline right-of-way on Alaskan lands in its efforts to secure a front row seat if a natural gas pipeline is ever approved. The original application was filed in 1981 and remains active and in good standing, calling for a parallel route to the Alaska Highway.

Enron Energy Services and Macerich Co., a publicly traded realestate investment trust, announced a 10-year energy managementagreement for more than 40 wholly-owned and joint ventureproperties. Enron will manage the supply of electricity and naturalgas and provide related energy management services for theproperties, including energy infrastructure upgrades.
