Idaho PUC Curbs Gas Use for Snow Melting Equipment

With last winter now a memory, the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on Tuesday granted Intermountain Natural Gas Co. authority to interrupt customers’ use of gas to fire snow-melting equipment to clear driveways and rooftops in the midst of large wintertime accumulations of the white frosty stuff.

CIG Awaits OPS Approval to Restart Service on Damaged Line

An explosion rocked a portion of Colorado Interstate Gas Co.’s (CIG) mainline in Colorado on March 23, but it did not interrupt natural gas deliveries to the region or cause any injuries, according to the pipeline. On Friday, a spokesman for El Paso Corp., which owns CIG, said repairs on the damaged section of the pipeline had been completed, and the company was awaiting clearance from the federal Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) to begin flowing gas through the affected line.

Higher Prices Interrupt Flat Streak; Sable Back to Normal

The flat pattern that had dominated prices at most points from last Thursday through Monday was broken up Tuesday with upticks that tended to range from about a nickel to a little more than a dime. A few scattered points remained basically unchanged again, while variations from the overall trend included a drop of a nickel at Transco Station 85 (Mobile Bay) and a gain of about a quarter at Transco Zone 6-New York City.
