Cheniere Inks Pact with Bechtel for Construction of 2 LNG Terminals

Cheniere Energy Inc. moved a step closer to developing two new LNG import terminals at Corpus Christi, TX, and Sabine Pass, LA, signing an agreement with Bechtel Corp. for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the facilities. Bechtel will work over the next few months to develop a lump-sum turnkey estimate for the terminals, based on the front end engineering design (FEED) currently being completed.

Reliant Inks Deal with SRP for $288.5M Sale of Arizona Plant

Continuing ongoing efforts to bolster its balance sheet, Reliant Resources Inc. on Wednesday disclosed that it has entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of its 588 MW Desert Basin plant in Arizona to the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (SRP) for $288.5 million.

Dominion Inks Novel Credit Deal with JP Morgan

Dominion announced Thursday that it closed on a $1.45 billion revolving credit facility with JP Morgan that features a unique pricing mechanism, called relative value pricing, which adjusts interest payments based on reference to bond market pricing. Dominion and JP Morgan said they expect the new financing method to “win widespread popularity…attract more lenders to the market and serve as a model for future unsecured short-term credit for investment grade companies.”

Millennium Energy Inks Merger Agreement with Crossfield Gas

Calgary-based Millennium Energy Inc. and Crossfield Gas Corp. announced that they have entered into a merger agreement under which Millennium will acquire Crossfield through a stock swap. Upon completion, the combined company will be renamed Bear Creek Energy Ltd.

Williams announced plans to add processing capacity to its Opal, WY, plant to accommodate gas production volumes from Shell Exploration and Production’s Pinedale Anticline play in southwestern Wyoming. Williams said the expansion will bring the capacity of the plant to about 1.1 Bcf/d from the current 750 MMcf/d.
