A unit of Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC) has agreed to buy producing and undeveloped assets from Canadian subsidiaries of Hunt Oil Co. of Dallas for C$525 million (US$521 million).

Williams Partners LP grabbed more business in the Marcellus Shale late Thursday after agreeing to pay Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. $150 million for 75 miles of gathering pipelines and two compressor stations in Susquehanna County, PA.

While some points were able to log increases for the entire week, deals done on Friday for weekend and Monday delivery included some upticks, some that did not change and quite a few that recorded declines. The Northeast, Midcontinent, Rockies and California recorded the most drops, with declines ranging from a penny to 6 cents.

The Northeast’s price strength this week, which included spikes of nearly a dollar or more than a dollar during the previous two days, was starting to run out of steam Thursday with retreats at most citygates as a modest warming trend was expected to continue into the weekend. However, the rest of the market was getting at least a little second wind as single-digit gains prevailed at most points after overall softness a day earlier.
