CA Lawmakers Look at LNG, Energy Agency Reorganization Bills

California’s lower state legislative house Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee postponed action Monday on four energy proposals, while passing out a liquefied natural gas (LNG) assessment bill and failing to approve a proposed energy agency consolidation/reorganization proposal. The LNG measure (AB 993) now moves to the Appropriations Committee.

Semco Suspends Dividend to Get Financial House Back in Order

Schreiber, former chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston’s Global Energy Group, took over as Semco Energy’s new president and CEO in March, the local gas distribution company announced Thursday that it was suspending its $0.075 per share dividend effective immediately in an effort to strengthen its balance sheet, improve its credit rating and fund future growth.
