NGPL Holds Open Seasons for MidContinent Storage, A/G Line Capacity

Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL), Thursday announced it is holding open seasons for additional storage capacity at its Sayre storage field in Oklahoma, and transportation capacity along connecting pipes in northern Texas and Oklahoma. The Kinder Morgan subsidiary is proposing to add 10 Bcf of working gas capacity to the current 38.1 Bcf at the Sayre field.

Duke Holds Simultaneous Open Seasons for Capacity on Tetco, Union Gas, Algonquin

Duke Energy Gas Transmission (DEGT) started a broad-based marketing blitz last week for potentially diverse or integrated expansions on its three major eastern gas transportation and storage businesses: Algonquin Gas Transmission, Texas Eastern Transmission, and Union Gas Limited. Company officials said the move has a lot to do with expectations for growing liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports and the impact they will have on gas flows on the eastern pipeline grid.

Magnum Hunter Doubles New Mexico Acreage with Latest Acquisition

Magnum Hunter Resources Inc. on Monday doubled the amount of oil and natural gas properties it holds in its successful onshore core region of southeastern New Mexico with a $243 million purchase from EnCana Corp., which obtained the properties through its acquisition with Tom Brown Inc. The properties represent a 72% increase to Magnum Hunter’s existing 32 MMcfe/d of production from existing properties in New Mexico and approximately 11% of its current total net daily production.

Hydro-Quebec last week announced the sale of its 50.38% control of Noverco, the holding company that owns nearly 75% of Quebec’s largest natural gas distributor, Gaz Metropolitain, and almost 10% of Canadian pipeline and distribution firm Enbridge Inc., to a consortium led by the Quebec provincial pension fund manager Caisse de depot for C$900 million.
