Tennessee Gas Pipeline is holding an open season through May 31to solicit interest in its Mississippi 500 Line Expansion Project.Tennessee expects the expansion to involve about 700,000 Dth/d offirm service starting June 1, 2001.

The Vector Pipeline project, a proposed $470 million pipelineextending from Chicago to the Dawn hub in Ontario, is currentlyholding an open season through May 19. Vector said it is focused onselling the 300 MMcf/d dedicated to come online when its Highlandcompressor station is put in service in 2001. The open seasonstarted last week.

Western Reorganizes, Plans Electric Utility Separation

Although the creation of Westar Energy did not follow the pathoriginally intended, plans for the utility holding company were setin motion last week when Western Resources announced it will splitthe company into two separate entities, one covering electricutility businesses and another for its non-electric operations.Both companies will be public entities. The separation is expectedoccur through a voluntary exchange offer expected to be completedprior to year-end.
