Manufacturers, Industry Both Leery of Action by Federal Government

The oil and gas industry recognizes that it is in its best interest to assure the public that hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is being done safely, but it is wary of the federal government enacting its own regulations on the practice. Futures Gains Outpace Modest Physical Moves; June Jumps 8 Cents

Physical gas for delivery Wednesday moved modestly higher with market moves for the most part confined to advances of less than a nickel. Only a few locations reported declines. The market largely reflected relatively benign conditions of modest temperatures, maintenance, and lack of price-moving cooling load.

All But One North Dakota Flaring Lawsuits Dismissed

A federal judge has dismissed 13 of 14 lawsuits involving wellsite associated gas flaring aimed at North Dakota’s major oil/natural gas producers. The dismissal was on a procedural basis, claiming the mineral rights owners who brought the lawsuits have not exhausted their administrative remedies with the state.

Panhandle to Buy Stake in Eagle Ford Oil Assets for $80.4M

Panhandle Oil and Gas Inc. said it has signed an agreement to purchase a 16% non-operated working interest in 11,100 gross (1,775 net) acres in the core of the Eagle Ford Shale from private sellers for $80.4 million.

Alaska Gold Mine Developer Files for Gas Pipeline

Physical Gains Go Toe-To-Toe With Firm Screen; June Adds 6 Cents

Physical gas prices overall elected to match the screen stride for stride overall in Monday’s trading. Eastern points managed the greatest gains and although temperature forecasts gave little incentive to purchase gas, when adjusted for humidity major metropolitan areas were expected to be well over 80. Northeast, Marcellus, and Mid-Atlantic locations all posted healthy double digit gains.
