Rupture News Helps Boost Screen and Also Cash

Other than severe heat in the Southwest and inland California, gas wasn’t getting much weather support Wednesday, as much of the South turned decidedly mild in the wake of a cool front moving southeastward. But prices still managed fairly strong rebounds that were between 10 and 29 cents in most cases, and up to about 30 cents at the PG&E citygate and above 40 cents in San Juan Basin.

Utilities Feeling Heat of Wary Investors as Once-Staid Stock Tumbles with Marketers

Last week may prove memorable for what it wasn’t, as much as for what it was, when it came to energy companies and the New York Stock Exchange. Northeast Citygates Lead Overall Market Advances

High heat levels were returning Monday in some areas that had enjoyed some weekend relief, such as the Northeast, and never really left other areas, such as the South. The resultant power generation load was being felt in rising gas prices at nearly every point. Except for flat to slightly higher numbers for some Rockies pipes, Niagara, and ANR ML7, price increases elsewhere ranged from about a nickel to more than 40 cents at Transco Zone 6-New York City pool. Most were in the vicinity of a dime.
