Gateway Energy Buys GOM Gathering Lines From Gulfshore

Gateway Energy Corp. bought offshore pipelines from Gulfshore Midstream Pipelines Ltd. extending from the western and central Gulf of Mexico (GOM) in water depths of 50-650 feet and currently gathering about 60,000 Mcf/d of gas from 56 wells, the company said Thursday.

KMP, Sempra Hold Open Season for REX East Extension to Oakford, PA

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP (KMP) and Sempra Pipelines and Storage are holding a binding open season through July 14 to solicit interest in extending their proposed Rockies Express Pipeline (REX) East from its currently proposed terminus at the Clarington Hub in Monroe County, OH to Oakford, PA. The 100-mile extension, which would pass through Waynesburg, PA, would provide up to 1.8 Bcf/d.

El Paso Extends Continental Connector Open Season

El Paso Corp. said Tuesday it is extending the binding open season for its mammoth Continental Connector pipeline project due to requests from several prospective shippers who are seeking additional time to further evaluate and fully respond to the offering. The open season, which began May 1, will be extended until June 8.

FERC Gives Green Light to Phase I of Entrega

The initial phase of the 330-mile Entrega gas pipeline project was given the green light to begin service by FERC on Wednesday. Phase I is a 136-mile, 36-inch diameter pipeline extending from the Meeker Hub in Rio Blanco County, CO, through Moffat County, CO, to Wamsutter in Sweetwater County, WY. The line will add 750 MMcf/d of firm capacity to the region, significantly boosting gas deliveries out of the Piceance Basin. Service is expected to begin next month.

Industry Briefs

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission gave regulated energy companies in the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf Coast region a little breathing room by extending any deadlines to Sept. 30 for companies affected by the hurricane who are participating in proceedings at the Commission and need an extension. FERC also is allowing companies to delay until Sept. 30 compliance with certain standards of conduct regulations, particularly reporting on each emergency that resulted in a deviation from the standards of conduct. Regulations usually require reporting of such incidents within 24 hours.
