Westcoast 200 MMcf/d Mainline Expansion Approved by NEB

Westcoast Energy, a Duke Energy subsidiary, received approval from Canada’s National Energy Board (NEB) to expand its Southern Mainline gas pipeline system in British Columbia by adding 34 miles of 42-inch diameter pipe in six looping segments along with some compression upgrades. The C$270 million project will add about 200 MMcf/d of capacity to the system by Nov. 1.

Certificate Issued for NGPL’s North Lansing Storage Expansion

Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America (NGPL) Tuesday was awarded a certificate by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to convert 10.7 Bcf of cushion gas into working gas at its North Lansing storage field in Harrison County, TX.

Devon Increases North Texas Processing of Barnett Shale Production

Devon Energy completed a major expansion of its Bridgeport Gas Processing Plant northwest of Fort Worth, TX, adding 200 MMcf/d of inlet gas processing capacity to process rapidly growing production from the Barnett Shale formation in the Fort Worth Basin, which Devon inherited from Mitchell Energy following its purchase of the company last summer (see Daily GPI, Aug. 15).
