ANR Pipeline Co. is requesting FERC approval of a $42.1 million pipeline looping and replacement project in Walworth and Rock counties, WI. The West Leg project is designed to add 220,000 Dth/d of firm transportation capacity to its system in order to serve new demand from local distribution companies and power generators.

Florida Gas Transmission said it is ahead of schedule on turbine and pipeline maintenance work for its Phase V expansion. It will be able to schedule up to 1,600,000 MMBtu/d into its market area starting Wednesday rather than the 1,500,000 MMBtu/d it had expected earlier. The turbine work is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 18. On Nov. 22, it will begin a pipe upgrade at one of its throughput stations that will take four days, during which it will schedule up to 1,300,000 MMBtu/d into its market area. Starting on Nov. 26, it will upgrade additional piping at two other throughput stations. That work will take seven to 10 days, during which it will schedule up to 1,500,000 MMBtu/d into its market area. For details call Mike Bryant at (713) 853-4874.
GISB Expansion Would Include Power Standards
Acknowledging that the natural gas industry had converged to a point with the power industry where it is now one energy industry, the Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB) has adopted a working model for a new organization that would set the rules and practices for wholesale and retail electricity along with natural gas markets. By a unanimous 25-0 vote, GISB formally expanded its purpose to permit the “consideration of electric wholesale and retail standards and model business practices.”
Destin Assessing Expansion Need With Open Season
Destin Pipeline is holding an open season through 1 p.m. CDT Aug. 30 to assess interest in expanded services. Recent offshore developments have indicated a potential need for extra capacity, Destin said. Currently it is capable of moving 1 Bcf/d.
