Atlanta Gas Light Inc.’s (AGL) proposal to establish over the next five years a network of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations was approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) in Atlanta Tuesday.

Proposed legislation to require natural gas operators to pay for the costs to remediate contamination caused by drilling wells is being floated by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.

The objective of the measure is to compel companies to produce on existing leases before they can acquire new leases, a Markey spokeswoman said.
