CIG declared a force majeure following an engine turbocharger failure at its Laramie East Compressor Station. Effective with Saturday’s gas day CIG was reducing station capacity form 770 MMcf/d to 680 MMcf/d until further notice. Currently the capacity is fully subscribed at the 770 MMcf/d level, the pipeline said.

Heavy truck manufacturer Peterbilt Motors Co. has rolled out three natural gas-fueled models equipped with the Cummins Westport ISL-G engine, which offers a 320 hp rating and 1,000 ft-lbs. of torque. The vehicles run on either compressed or liquefied natural gas. “Our natural gas Models 384, 365 and 320 demonstrate our industry leadership in developing products that will reduce harmful emissions and provide exceptional fuel efficiency,” said Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager.

Due to engine maintenance at several compressor stations along its Southeast Mainline (SEML), ANR anticipates the following SEML capacity reductions (from a 1,399 MMcf/d base): 285 MMcf/d Dec. 2-7, 105 MMcf/d Dec. 8-18 and 70 MMcf/d Dec. 19-31. “Based on current nominations, it is anticipated that the above reductions may result in the curtailment of Firm Secondary and IT services,” ANR said.

CIG declared a force majeure event after an unexpected outage at Kim Compressor Station, located on the Campo Lateral (CS1) constraint point. Engine components must be sent to an external repair facility, CIG said, and it estimated the station’s return to service at approximately one week. Capacity at CS1 was reduced from 414 MMcf/d to 355 MMcf/d Thursday.

ANR said it has begun engine maintenance at the Greenville (MS) Compressor Station, which is reducing total Southeast Mainline capacity by 300 MMcf/d (leaving 985 MMcf/d available) through Monday. Based on current nominations, ANR said, it is anticipated that the reduction may result in the curtailment of Interruptible and Firm Secondary services. ANR also said that due to unplanned line maintenance at South Marsh Island 10, gas upstream of the offshore platform was required to shut in Tuesday and Wednesday. The action affected five meters.

Tennessee Issues Force Majeure Following Blast on Vessel Offshore Louisiana

An explosion occurred late Tuesday in the engine room of a commercial diving vessel that was decommissioning a small segment of ANR Pipeline offshore Louisiana, sending six crew members of the vessel to area hospitals, said a spokesman for TransCanada, which owns ANR. The U.S. Coast Guard still is searching for one unaccounted member of the crew.
