Due to recent flooding and expected rains, Rockies Express Pipeline (REX) again revised its expected in-service date for REX-East interim service. Now it expects the service to begin in late April or early May, the pipeline said. “Initial REX-East service (or interim service) is projected to commence late April to early May with a capacity of 1,600 MDth/d into Zone 3,” the pipeline said in an informational posting last week. “This will include deliveries to NGPL (Moultrie County, IL), Trunkline (Douglas County, IL), Midwestern (Edgar County, IL), and PEPL (Putnam County, IN). In addition, REX expects to have the Ameren (Moultrie County, IL) delivery point available for service contemporaneously with the interim service delivery points.” Service to Lebanon, OH, is projected to commence June 15 with a capacity of 1,600 MDth/d. In-service of the fully powered REX-East pipeline to Clarington, OH, is projected to commence Nov. 1 with capacity of 1,800 MDth/d, the pipeline said. Earlier in March REX said interim service on the 683-mile REX-East would be delayed from April 1 to the first half of April.

Petrohawk Energy Corp., which drilled the highest-producing well to date in the Haynesville Shale, said last week its estimated ultimate recovery (EUR) in the play has risen to 7.5 Bcfe/d based on performance data from its first 14 completed wells.

Millennium Pipeline Co. LLC is holding a binding open season through Dec. 10 offering firm forward-haul capacity beginning on its in-service date, which is expected to be Dec. 15. Shippers may request firm service from any authorized mainline receipt point to any authorized mainline delivery point. Millennium can serve, directly or indirectly, markets in New York, New Jersey and New England. Western New York gas storage can be accessed directly via Millennium. And Canadian gas can be delivered through interconnections with Empire State Pipeline. Swift Energy Co. has closed the previously announced acquisition of property interests from privately held Crimson Energy Partners LP with an effective date of May 1, 2008. The interests in Crimson’s Briscoe “A” lease and wells are in Dimmit County, TX, on 5,140 acres adjacent to existing Swift Energy production in its Cotulla area. Production is approximately 90% natural gas and natural gas liquids and averaged approximately 3.7 MMcfe/d net to the purchased working interests for the first seven months of 2008. The final purchase price of the property interests closed was $46.4 million, including the initial deposit, and is subject to post-closing adjustments. This acquisition was funded with bank borrowings under the company’s credit facility.
