PG&E Reports $951M First Quarter Loss

Continuing to report a trail of red ink, PG&E Corp. Wednesday said its first quarter results turned up a $951 million, or $2.62 per share, loss, driven by a $1.1 billion (after tax) cost of wholesale power by Pacific Gas and Electric Co.in unreimbursed power costs and power purchases by the state transmission grid operator, Cal-ISO.

California Plunges Lead Continuing Price Softness

May aftermarket pricing continued to erode Tuesday nearly across the board. Most declines were between about a nickel and a little more than 20 cents, with a majority of them toward the upper end of that range. The non-Malin California points plunged more than a dollar.

PACE Sees Prices Continuing above $5.00 This Year

The commission approved several electric “demand response” programs to be implemented by Consolidated Edison Co. of New York that are designed to reduce demand for electricity during peak periods.

Volumes delivered into the system thatexceed 104% of scheduled quantities will be penalized $15/Dth. TheOFO affects 25 Logansport Field points and 24 Joaquin Field points.
